CHESTER COUNTY MOTHERS OF MULTIPLES CLUB
In Loving Memory of Jeremy Wilson
POLICY FOR SCHOLARSHIP SELECTION
The Chester County Mothers of Multiples Club (CCMOMC) is a non-profit organization providing support to mothers of twins and high order multiples in Chester County. One $1,000 or two $500 scholarships will be awarded to a worthy student(s), with preference given to Multiples (twins, triplets, etc.) or siblings of Multiples.
This scholarship is in loving memory of Jeremy Wilson:
Jeremy Peter Wilson was born on March 14, 1997, along with his triplet sisters Claire and Laurel. His proud parents, Karen and Peter Wilson rejoiced that their long battle with infertility had finally ended, and in a BIG way. Being suddenly immersed into the world of triple “babyhood”, Mom and Dad were slightly overwhelmed, but it was a small price to pay for the miracle of these three beautiful children. Karen became an active member of the
Chester County Mothers of Multiples Club, which was a true “life saver” during the triplets’ infant, toddler and preschool years. Once the triplets entered school, life settled down a bit, but new challenges always arose as the triplets reached each milestone and entered a new phase of life.
Jeremy handled his role as “only boy” well and actively developed his own interests, which included building Legos, Star Wars, technology, music, playing the cello, skiing, fishing, Boy Scouts and much more. He also had a true love of learning and greatly enjoyed school. In the summer of 2007, just as Jeremy, then age 10 was about to enter 5th Grade at Charlestown Elementary School, Malvern, PA, the family was faced with a huge challenge
which would change their lives forever. Jeremy was diagnosed with sarcoma of the liver, a very rare and difficult to treat pediatric cancer. Jeremy fought a valiant cancer battle at A.I.DuPont Hospital, in Wilmington, DE, bravely enduring much pain, discomfort and frustration for 13 months. Sadly he lost his battle on October 5, 2008 at the age of 11 ½, a proud 6th Grader at Great Valley Middle School. Jeremy was a very brave and courageous boy, who handled his disease with great dignity; always maintaining his sense of humor, enthusiasm, positive and goal seeking attitude, and his love of school, his family, friends and life itself. We hope that Jeremy’s story will provide inspiration for all students to work hard in school and always strive to reach your goals. The Wilson family is greatly honored to have the Chester County Mother’s of Multiples grant this scholarship in loving memory of our son, Jeremy Peter Wilson.
