CCMOMC Community Service CYWA Room Redux Project Each year, the CCMOMC targets a need in the community for our annual community service project. Past year projects have included:
This year, we have decided to support the Community Youth and Women’s Alliance (CYWA) in Coatesville. The CYWA provides temporary shelter to over 40% of Chester County’s homeless women and children. Some women and their children remain in-residence for as long as 60 days to participate in the Transitional Housing program which (in addition to room and board) includes career counseling and life coaching to help support each woman’s journey back to independence. This is a proven program with case managers assisting over one hundred mothers and children who need shelter, financial and medical aid. The CCMOMC redesigned two bedrooms and a hallway to create a safe, bright, friendly and functional environment for moms and their children to be able to make a “fresh start” with dignity and privacy.
